Background

Cambodia has much higher logistics costs (transport, warehousing, etc.) than its neighbors, Thailand and Viet Nam, which hampers the competitiveness of the country’s manufacturing industries. In addition, the lack of a logistics center is a major cause of traffic (truck) congestion in Phnom Penh.

Under the country’s Logistics Master Plan, one of the key strategies is the development of logistics hubs for multimodal transport.

MPWT wants to make use of a piece of land located outside Phnom Penh in the vicinity of road/rail links, the special economic zone and the international airport to develop a logistics center under PPP modalities.

Key Activities
  1. Preparation of a project pre-feasibility

  2. Identification of national and international project developers potentially interested in investing in PPLC

  3. Carrying out initial project presentations to stakeholders

Expected Outcomes

By end 2019: PPLC tender process launched
