National Airport Corporation (NAC).
Background

NAC is currently making improvements to PMIA in preparation for the APEC summit to be held in Port Moresby in November 2018. In addition, NAC wishes to expand the existing terminal and construct a new terminal to meet PNG’s air transport needs over the next 30 years on a BOT basis. For this purpose, NAC has mandated ADB as its transaction advisor.

Key Activities

  1. Prepare a feasibility study, and define in particular the technical and commercial parameters of the expansion,

  2. Determine the appropriate PPP modalities and structure,

  3. Provide technical consultants for both day-to-day operational matters and capacity-building, and

  4. Invite the private sector for the development of the Project, and bring the Project to commercial and financial close.

Expected Outcomes

Airport to provide safe, efficient, reliable and sustainable aviation services and infrastructure, with at least one AP3F-supported PPP project in the air transport sector to achieve financial close by 2020.
